Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 16, 2026

1. Be Kind

Qerios is a place to ask honest questions and give honest answers. Anonymity makes it easier to be open, and it is not a licence to be cruel. Before you send something, ask yourself: would I be OK receiving this? These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.

2. What Is Not Allowed

You may not post, send or share any of the following, anonymously or not:

  • Harassment and bullying: insults, targeted abuse, pile-ons, or repeatedly contacting someone who asked you to stop.
  • Threats: threatening violence or harm to anyone, or encouraging people to hurt themselves or others.
  • Hate: attacking people for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality or similar characteristics.
  • Sexual content: nudity, sexually explicit content, or sexual messages sent to people who did not ask for them.
  • Minors: any sexual or exploitative content involving minors, or trying to contact minors for sexual purposes. Qerios is for people aged 16 and over.
  • Doxxing: sharing someone's private information, such as their address, phone number, ID or private photos, without their consent.
  • Spam and scams: mass or repeated unwanted messages, phishing, fake giveaways and misleading links.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be another person, brand or organisation.
  • Self-harm encouragement: promoting or encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
  • Anything illegal, or that promotes illegal activity or graphic violence.

3. Anonymous Does Not Mean Untraceable

Other users cannot see who sent an anonymous message, but we can link it to an account internally. Anonymous content is held to the same rules, and where the law requires it or someone is in danger we may share information with the authorities.

4. How to Report and Block

If something breaks these rules, tell us in the app:

  • Report: use the report button on an answer, question, profile or chat (including random chats) and choose a reason.
  • Block: open the person's profile or chat and choose Block. Their content is removed from your view and yours is hidden from them.
  • If you are in a random chat and feel unsafe, you can end the chat and report it.

You can also email [email protected].

5. What Happens When Rules Are Broken

We review reports and act on them within 24 hours. Depending on how serious the violation is, we may remove the content, restrict features, suspend the account, or permanently ban it. Threats, content involving minors and illegal content can lead to an immediate permanent ban and may be reported to the authorities. Creating new accounts to get around a ban is not allowed.

6. Appeals and Contact

If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account and tell us what happened. We will review it and aim to reply within 48 hours.

7. If You or Someone Else Needs Help

If you are thinking about hurting yourself, or you are worried about someone, please reach out to someone you trust or to your local emergency number or crisis line right away. The Qerios Safety Center has articles and resources on staying safe and getting support, and you can contact our support team from there. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
