How to Use Blocking & Reporting
Updated: May 31, 2026
Taking Control of Your Experience
Qerios is a community-driven platform, and your participation is vital to keeping it safe. While our automated moderation systems work hard to filter content, human behavior is complex, and sometimes you may need to take matters into your own hands. We provide two primary tools to help you curate your experience: Blocking and Reporting.
Our Promise: We empower you with the tools to define your own boundaries. Whether you want to silence a user or alert our team to a violation, your input is prioritized.
Using the Blocking Feature
Blocking is your primary tool for personal boundary management. When you choose to block a user on Qerios, the action is mutual.
- How it works: Once blocked, the other user cannot see your content, nor can they interact with you in any way. This includes sending direct messages, interacting with your profile, or sending anonymous questions to your Ask Link.
- When to use it: Use blocking when you want to stop all forms of interaction with a specific individual. It is an effective way to handle personal disagreements, unwanted attention, or individuals who make you feel uncomfortable.
Utilizing the Reporting System
If you encounter content or users that violate our Community Guidelines, we urge you to use our reporting system. Our reporting workflow is designed to be comprehensive, ensuring that the right context reaches our moderation team.
You can report questions, answers, or user profiles directly through the interface. We offer 11 distinct categories for reporting to ensure accurate triage:
- Spam: Unsolicited content or flooding.
- Harassment: Targeted bullying or intimidation.
- Hate Speech: Content promoting violence or hatred against protected groups.
- Child Safety: Any content involving minors that violates safety standards.
- Violent Speech: Threats of violence or graphic descriptions.
- Graphic Media: Inappropriate or disturbing imagery.
- Illegal Behaviors: Promoting or engaging in illicit activities.
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else.
- Sexual Content: Explicit material or sexual solicitation.
- Non-consensual Content: Sharing private imagery without permission.
- Terrorism/Extremism: Content promoting extremist ideologies.
What Happens After You Report?
When you submit a report, it enters our moderation queue. Our team reviews the context of the report alongside the nature of the violation. We value your reports because they provide the necessary community oversight to catch issues that automated systems might miss. Your privacy is protected throughout this process; the user being reported is never notified of who submitted the report.
