Choosing how to sign in looks like a small decision, but it affects how easily you can recover your account and how much information is shared. Qerios supports signing in with Apple or Google, in addition to email, so you can pick the one that fits your habits.

How social sign-in works

When you tap Sign in with Apple or Google, you confirm your identity with that provider and it tells Qerios who you are. You do not create a new password for Qerios. The advantage is that your provider already protects your account, often with two-step verification. The downside is that your Qerios account depends on that provider account staying accessible.

Apple versus Google

  • Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address behind a relay address if you choose. This is useful if you do not want a new service to have your main email.
  • Sign in with Google is convenient if you already use Google across your devices and want the same account on web and phone.

Whichever you choose, you are still the one who decides your Qerios username and profile information. The provider does not choose it for you, and you should not use your real name if you want to remain private.

Avoid creating duplicate accounts

The easiest mistake is signing in with one method one day and a different one the next, ending up with two accounts. Pick a single sign-in method and stick with it on every device. If you are not sure which one you used originally, try the one you use most often and check whether your profile appears.

Protect the account behind your sign-in

Your Qerios account is only as safe as the Apple, Google or email account used to reach it. Turn on two-step verification there, use a strong password and keep recovery options current. What makes a strong password is a good starting point, and it covers two-step verification, and the privacy settings checklist covers what to review inside Qerios.

If you lose access

If you lose your phone, recover the provider account first (Apple ID or Google account) and then sign in to Qerios again. If you want to leave Qerios altogether, deactivating or deleting works from your settings; deletion has a waiting period before data is permanently removed.

The short version

  • Apple and Google sign-in let a trusted provider confirm your identity.
  • Apple can hide your email behind a relay address.
  • Stick to one method to avoid duplicate accounts.
  • Protect the provider account with two-step verification.
